Who we are
Paws on Trek is operated by Danray Pty Ltd as trustee for the Huyuan Family Trust (ABN 37 373 165 733). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Order information: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and the items you ordered.
- Payment information: handled by our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Messages you send us: the content of contact form submissions and emails, including any sizing details you choose to share about your dog.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited, collected in aggregate to keep the site secure and understand what is working.
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not collect sensitive information unless you choose to provide it.
Why we collect it
- to process, pack, ship and track your order;
- to provide customer support, sizing help and returns;
- to send order updates and, only if you opt in, occasional marketing emails;
- to detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and
- to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses a small amount of browser storage to remember your shopping bag between visits, and may use cookies set by our hosting and payment providers to keep checkout secure. You can clear these in your browser at any time; doing so will empty your bag.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed with service providers who help us run the store:
- Shopify — order management and payment processing;
- Vercel — website hosting and content delivery;
- Australia Post and other carriers — delivery and tracking;
- Email and form providers — delivering order notifications and contact form messages;
- Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Overseas storage
Some of our providers store data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States and Canada. Where information is sent overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for at least seven years to meet Australian tax and consumer law requirements. Contact messages are kept for up to two years. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email hello@pawsontrek.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) on 1300 363 992 or at oaic.gov.au.
